Here are a few steps to ensure your Hanvey Lithium is ready for cooler temperatures! This is the same protocol for Lead-Acid Batteries.
It’s time to have your Space Heater ready to go! This is when we use the Dedicated plug to connect external equipment, such as Space Heaters. It's crucial to orient the space heater as shown in the photo below (pointing towards the drain pump about two feet away from the tub):
At the end of your workday, plug in the Shoreline and Dedicated plug every night, ensure the space heater is plugged into the black dedicated outlet, and set it to “HI”. The Shoreline keeps the batteries warm and allows the In-Line Tank Warmer to run, and the Dedicated allows the space heater to operate, providing ambient warmth.
Are you going away for a winter vacation? Then it's time to winterize! Winterization is needed when the van will sit for any period of time unplugged during freezing temperatures. Winterization includes purging the system of water and charging and turning off the batteries. (Don’t forget to remove your shampoo and other liquids as they may freeze!)
Lead-Acid battery systems cannot turn off their batteries.
