Below is a general recommended cleaning list that can be printed and used in your van! It is available for download at the bottom of the article.
Check List:
- Drain the Grey Tank
- Residual Hair Removal with the HV Dryer.
- Bathing Beauty
- Tub
- Mirrors
- Walls
- Table
- Wipe down the sides of the Tub and Cabinet.
- Clean floor mats (if applicable)
- Floors
- Empty Hairvac
Detailed Explanation:
Park the van in the desired location to begin the cleaning process. If possible, park the van on a slight incline with the nose of the vehicle facing up. (This aids in fully draining the grey tank)
With the small hose attached to the grey tank, you can open the valve to drain it to the ground or attach a dedicated dirty water hose to drain to a desired location. (If the mini hose is preferred, keep it attached to the grey tank)
Turn off the A/C unit and the Heater inside the grooming area. Use the HV dryer to remove residual hair from the grooming area with the back door and side doors open.
Note: On very humid days, this step may need to be skipped, as when the grooming area is frigid and the doors are opened, everything will become covered in condensation, making all pet hair flying around stick to everything.
**The A/C and Heater are turned off to avoid them grabbing hair as it is blown out.
Fill the trough of the tub and add the desired cleaner/disinfectant. Turn on the Bathing Beauty and wash the entire tub, mats, and grates. Take note of the contact time required for your desired disinfectant. If there is dander on the tub walls, Dawn Powerwash can be sprayed in a light coating and let sit for a few minutes. Take some paper towels or other non-abrasive cloth or scrubbing pad and wipe down the entire tub while running the Bathing Beauty over its entire surface. Let the Bathing Beauty run for the desired amount of time and move on to the next step. Set the soaked cloth used to wipe down the tub onto the table for later.
Note: Bleached-based, hydrogen peroxide and alcohol-based cleansers can degrade metals, plastics, and seals over time. They will also void your warranty.
Take a microfiber cloth or similar and spray the desired cleaner or disinfectant on the mirrors, walls, and table dividers(if applicable). Start with the mirror above the tub/table, the mirror behind the table, and then the walls around the tub, moving on to the walls on the opposite side.
Wipe the table with the soaked cloth from the tub and let it sit wet. If the table is dirty, a handheld scrub brush is helpful after the table has soaked a bit.
Wipe down the sides of the tub and the tool cabinet (if needed).
** Remember to turn off the Bathing Beauty and thoroughly drain the tub. Removing any residual hair from the trough and hair catch. Set the Bathing Beauty to lean on the side of the trough and the bather board up off the bottom of the tub leaned against the wall.
Spray floors with the desired cleaner or disinfectant. A basic swiffer wand or similar is handy for cleaning the floors. Attach the same or new microfiber cloth to the swiffer and wipe the floor. (It will also fit in most areas around the table and under the tub).
